Some large files exceed the max buffer size.

Does anyone know how to override the default?

All help welcome! Thanks in advance.

Are you using Emacs on Windows? That was something I
experienced when I had to do a thing for Windows a
couple of years back, some thing I never experienced
with GNU Emacs on my regular Debian. Or, come to think
of it, I never got an error message or anything that
mentioned it, it was just that, with very large files,
the whole UX started to disintegrate. But I think they
fixed that by now. Anyway, what I really wanted to say,
you should post this on gnu.emacs.help - comp.emacs is
dead.

Whatever happened to Xah Lee? Though he had an abrasive
personality, his posts often had value.

If he is active you have a much greater chance of
meeting him at gnu.emacs.help or gnu.emacs.gnus because
those groups, as opposed to this, are alive.

Thanks; I was just curious. I just subscribed to those two
groups and noticed his last post to gnu.emacs.help was during
November 2012, about the same time as his last post here when
he reported that Daniel Weinreb died. It would seem Xah must
be pushing up daisies also. :-)

I don't think so, that would be sad.

Anyway, visit his domain:

xahlee.org.

There's a link to his blog:

http://ergoemacs.org/emacs/blog.html

Apparently, he posted yesterday.
