Hello NG,

I am looking forward to port emacs to my linux driven ebook-reader
(pocketbook 912). I never did such a porting procedure, so for now i
don't know where to start.

For the pocketbook there is an official SDK, a linux-download and an
inofficial SDK (in .deb format).

Imho, first goal would be to get a terminal/console application and
running a minimal emacs within. Or is there sth like a howto /
first-steps / minimal-emacs / man / info / url / ... for this purpose?

I would be glad to get some hints / experiences from you.

Hi Bernd,

I am curious if you have made any progress in porting emacs to your pocketbook 912.
There are Emacs versions for Android (meant for phone) and iOS, and with both you can get a bluetooth keyboard running. The added value of a pocketbook compared to these options is that it has a low power and sunlight proof screen.
The main issue I see is that Emacs doesn't really work with touch-only, one needs a keyboard. One could setup an ssh connection through wi-fi and type remotely, but then one perhaps could better use Emacs on the client system itself (an ultrabook for example) which has a keyboard.
